Stainless Torx #20 screws are used in the handle that also features Nighthawk Custom medallions. Roddy has been hand building knives here in the Ozarks since 2018. In 2020, he branched out on his own after getting his first belt grinder and opening his shop, Roddy Knives. Roddy now operates out of his personal shop in Huntsville, AR, about 30 minutes south of Nighthawk Custom. Roddy proudly forges his own steel and completely hand builds the knife using the same philosophy as us, but as One Blade, One Bladesmith. His Damascus patterns are created by taking 1080 and 15N20 steel and alternating them in 30-35 layers. He then heats that metal up to 2,300-2,400 degrees and uses a 25-ton press to forge the steel together. Next, he manipulates the Damascus to produce some incredible patterns that can be seen throughout his beautiful work.
