Nighthawk Custom’s Model K901 knife is the perfect skinner knife for your next hunting trip. The 80CRV2 high carbon blade has been forged by bladesmith Sam Roddy. The blade measures 3.2” with an overall length of 7.3”. Mammoth bark has been used on the handle for a touch of class with mosaic pins adding to the look. This skinner features a leather lanyard and a single hand stitched leather sheath for easy carry. The blade has been heat treated to a 58-59 Rockwell Hardness.

About Sam Roddy:

Sam Roddy is an impressive young bladesmith who trained under an Arkansas native bladesmith legend, Keith Murr. Roddy has been hand building knives here in the Ozarks since 2018. In 2020, he branched out on his own after getting his first belt grinder and opening his shop, Roddy Knives. Roddy now operates out of his personal shop in Huntsville, AR, about 30 minutes south of Nighthawk Custom. Roddy proudly forges his own steel and completely hand builds the knife using the same philosophy as us, but as One Blade, One Bladesmith. His Damascus patterns are created by taking 1080 and 15N20 steel and alternating them in 30-35 layers. He then heats that metal up to 2,300-2,400 degrees and uses a 25-ton press to forge the steel together. Next, he manipulates the Damascus to produce some incredible patterns that can be seen throughout his beautiful work.
