American Animal Arms set out with intention to build a handguard that addresses the technology today’s warfighter mounts on their rifle, in addition to all the identified short comings of other “premium” handguards. The Lights Out Rail is the result of feedback from end-users and continued R&D for over two years. Featuring the patent-pending SLIC system for seamless wire management and versatile accessory mounting, this free floating handguard is made from aero-space grade 6061 T-6 aluminum and has a Black Type 3 anodized finish, anti-rotational tabs, stainless steel QD mounts, Animal Cam Lock mounting system, and an easy-install barrel nut. Patent-Pending Slide Lock Integrated Channels or “SLIC” System:
The SLIC System is a channel/cover system machined into the 2, 4, 7, and 10 o’clock positions on the handguard.
Conceals and protects wires and cables, eliminating the need for after thought solutions like zip-ties, tape, ranger bands, or bulky/flimsy add on pieces, which may rattle loose and take up valuable rail space.
Improves the functionality and aesthetics of the rifle with a sleek and professional look while protecting the cables/wires of mission critical components.
SLIC System channels double as mounting points for accessories.
Allows users to mount M-Lok equipped accessories (lights, lasers, grips, etc.) securely and in optimal ergonomic locations, adding adaptability for a wide range of components, maximizing customization potential for users.
Optional SLIC ARCA Mount allows slide on, slide off ARCA mounting solution.

Anti-Rotational Tabs:
Robust anti-rotation tabs positioned at the top and bottom of the rail are machined to 0.02? of a mil-spec upper.
Ensure precise mating with upper receivers (Billet and non-mil-spec uppers may not fit).
Help the rail and accessories stay locked in place, even in extreme conditions, enhancing stability and durability during use, and providing reliable performance under professional-grade stress.
Patent Pending Animal Cam-Lock (ACL) Mounting System:
No more chasing lost washers, nuts, and bolts! The free floating Animal Cam Lock mounting system uses a unique patent-pending cam-pin nut, two cam-pin bolts, and seated slots to attach to the non-timing barrel nut.
Bolts drop to a 45° angle when loosened, freeing the handguard from the barrel nut while still remaining attached to the handguard.
Engineered Relief Cut
Allows the handguard to tighten evenly around the barrel nut.
Lessens the likelihood of stress cracks that may occur without the relief cut.
Non-Timing Barrel Nut:
Simplifies installation without sacrificing precision or reliability, reduces setup time for users, and ensures a secure and repeatable fit.
Included barrel nut is light-weight (1.75 oz) premium anodized aluminum or optional heavier (4.80 oz) 4140 steel.
